Merida from ‘Brave’ is Coming to Disney Parks

The Disney Pixar movie "Brave" opens in theaters on June 22, and the main character, Merida will be coming to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland for interactive meet & greets!

We reported back in February that she would be coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios; however, plans have changed and today the Disney Parks Blog announced that she will be taking over Rapunzel's current spot of the Fairytale Garden in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  You will be invited to engage in archery lessons and other activities until it's your turn to meet Merida.

In Disneyland Park, Merida will be located near it's a small world in Fantasyland, where again, you will be able to participate in various activities and become a part of her clan.

In both locations Merida will be joined by the three bear cubs from the film, who will be up to lots of silly antics!

At Walt Disney World Rapunzel will be relocated to a new location on the outskirts of Adventureland.

Rumors are saying Rapunzel will eventually end up near Peter Pan in Fantasyland, in a new Rapunzel themed area, with her tower, where the old Skyway building/Fantasyland Stroller Parking used to be (between the Peter Pan queue and it's a small world).  Rumors are also saying Flynn Ryder will once again join her for the meet & greets!
