Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2012
The always popular Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will be held September 28 - November 11 this year! This is a great season to go to Walt Disney World, the crowds are lower, the weather is mild, the prices of the resorts are on the lower-end, and and there are almost always discounts!
And speaking of discounts to pair with the Food & Wine Festival, currently, when you purchase at least a 3-Night non-discounted Package (room + theme park tickets), you will receive a Disney Dining Plan FREE. This offer extends through September 29, just in time to check-in for the Food & Wine Festival and use all your free Dining Plan Snack credits at the Food & Wine Festival! If you check-in by the 29th, you will receive the Free Dining Plan Offer through your entire vacation. Also keep watch for the Free Dining Plan Offer to be extended, history shows us that for the past several years Disney has had Free Dining through dates into mid-November!! Nothing is guaranteed of course, but we are hoping history will repeat itself!

Disney's PhotoPass - How does it work?
We often get questions about Disney's PhotoPass service. What is it? How does it work? How much does it cost? I hope this article helps you understand it more!
Disney’s PhotoPass service is an easy way to get fantastic photos of your entire family at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. A PhotoPass photographer will take a picture of your group (or just the children, just the adults, etc. - you can dictate the picture), scan a card, and then hand you the card. When you return home you use Disney’s website: www.disneyphotopass.com to load these pictures and add Disney themed borders to them. When you have all your pictures edited you can order a CD of your pictures.
There are PhotoPass Photographers throughout the theme parks, including the water parks at Walt Disney World, and even sometimes at the resorts. They are always located in front of the park’s giant icon, at most character meet & greets, and in other busy areas of the park. Sometimes they will create a “magic shot” where they include a Disney character in the finished product (you will see it online and on your CD as in the example with Minnie Mouse below), or they will have you do a fun pose. You can also request these “magic shots” and pose however you'd like!
Once you have been given a PhotoPass card by your first photographer, you can keep using this same card throughout your entire trip. If you happen to forget it in the room, do not hesitate to ask for another card. You can have as many as you’d like, and there is NO limit to how many pictures you can have made either.
You can either pre-purchase a CD, or purchase it after your trip. There is a discount price of $99.95 if you pre-purchase it at http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx.
*Tip: Once you have your PhotoPass card, take a picture of the number code on the back. If you happen to lose your card, you can still use this number to load your pictures online after your trip!
Note: If you choose NOT to purchase the PhotoPass CD, you can still ask the PhotoPass Photographers to take a picture with your camera -- at no charge!

Welcome Disney Fantasy!
The Disney Fantasy, the fourth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, was christened yesterday, March 1, 2012 during a star-studded christening celebration at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in New York City.
There were celebrity performances from Jerry Seinfeld, Neil Patrick Harris, Nick Cannon and Heather Headley, and the Disney Fantasy godmother, Mariah Carey, took center stage for the christening moment. Carey led the audience in a countdown and then a 6-foot tall bottle of champagne in the Atrium Lobby erupted and showered the crowd with confetti and streamers as a traditional bottle of champagne broke against the ship’s hull.
Two of our agents, Nikki and Brook were able to go to Pier 88 in Manhattan to view the magnificent ship!
The Disney Fantasy will sail from Port Canaveral on seven-night Caribbean itineraries that alternate eastern (St. Maarten and St. Thomas) and western (Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel). All itineraries will include a stop at Castaway Cay.

The Fantasy left New York City around 4:20 PM today and Brook was able to see her off. Here is a video she took of the ship leaving and sounding her horns, saying good-bye to the Big Apple!
The Fantasy is headed to warmer climates with a stop at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay; then Nassau, Bahamas, before finishing her journey in Port Canaveral, Florida. The Maiden Voyage takes place on March 31.

The Wonderland Tea Party
Looking for something extra for your little one during your next Walt Disney World trip? The Wonderland Tea Party is a fabulous party held Monday through Friday, 2-3 PM at the 1900 Park Fare restaurant at the Grand Floridian resort.
Children ages 4-10 attend a "tea party" with the Mad Hatter and Alice; they decorate cupcakes, drink "tea" (apple juice) and play games. PhotoPass photographers attend to the party to capture your child's fun. The price is approximately $42.60 including tax, and adults are not allowed.
We were lucky to attend this party in 2009. Things have changed slightly since we last attended, but it was a huge highlight of the trip for my daughter (Claire).
We checked in about 20 minutes prior to the party's start time. We also brought along our autograph book for the characters to sign. Parents were allowed to come in and make sure their child got seated and then the children waved us off. I actually lingered to take a few more pictures and my daughter told me it was time for me to leave!
My daughter told me that the party started when they suddenly heard banging on the doors and when they opened them, there was no one there....the Mad Hatter and Alice were playing tricks on them and running from door to door knocking!
They decorated their cupcakes and ate lunch (which is no longer provided) and play games with Alice and the Mad Hatter. Claire told me that the Mad Hatter had very bad manners and they had to scold him several times. At one point they were led out to the lobby for a parade. I was lucky enough to capture a few pictures. Claire was having a ball.
The worked their way around the lobby and out to a court yard where each child had a picture taken with the characters.
After the picture session they were led back into 1900 Park Fare and it got quiet inside. Alice and the Mad Hatter had left, but the games continued. The hour went by fast and soon it was time to go in and pick up our children. The Cast Members told us to walk in quietly, as they had gotten the children to take a nap. You could see them all with their heads on the table and shaking with giggles. They then yelled out surprise and held out flowers for us.
Claire talked about this experience non-stop. We do plan to do it again!
You can make this reservation 180 days out by calling (407) WDW-DINE or ask you Mouse World Travel Agent to do this for you. There is a cancelation policy and you will be charged a cancelation fee if you cancel less than 24 hours beforehand. Payment is due at check in, but a credit card is needed to hold your child's place.
We highly recommended giving this party a try. Boys and girls can attend, but I have found that it is usually mostly girls. Costumes are optional as well, but many do wear them.
